In his discursive presentation at "Common Sense," Harry Parr of Bompas & Parr challenged the apparent immediacy of our sensory perception. Handing out chocolates among the audience and contrasting their effect to a program of evocative sights and sounds, he demonstrated how each person’s experience of the world in fact radically differs. What can we learn from taste and smell, Parr asked. How can a sensitivity to food and drink transform an approach to design?
