Design & The Revolution of AI.

A film by A/D/O and Somesuch exploring the current state and future of AI.

The concept of AI can conjure up visions of a post apocalyptic future ripped right from a Sci-Fi novel based in 3035. Design & The Revolution of AI aims to humanize our relationship with technology and questions how AI is intertwined in our daily lives, its effect, impact and the implications it has on the future of design.

Leo Leigh, director of the film, tackled this complex subject by connecting with viewers in a realistic way. “This is a film about the big ideas that impact all of mankind, so it’s often seen as a topic too conceptually huge to tackle,” he says,“but AI is something that already affects the way people work, the way they think – even the way they live.” He continues: “I wanted to engage in these real world implications, and for me, it was about making the complexity of an imagined future a bit more relevant and realistic. I wanted to show a fresh human take on a subject that’s often only talked about in apocalyptic terms.”

The film features experts and designers discussing the evolving relationship humans have with technology. Somesuch Producer, Tarquin Glass adds: “The film portrays the reciprocal relationship between designer and AI technology. It shows how AI mimics nature, taking inspiration from its patterns to create its own design. Rather than creating challenges in the design industry, AI has the capacity to complement our creativity and offer new opportunities."
