A Look into Assemble's A Factory as it Might Be.

The UK-based, Turner Prize winning collective Assemble presents their installation, A Factory as it Might Be, in the A/D/O project space. As a part of the Design Academy’s inaugural season, they explored the theme through the construction of a utopian factory inspired by the William Morris essay by the same name.

Through the use of a clay extruder, Assemble were able to rapidly produce the utilitarian tiles that clad their factory while leaving time for chance and experimentation through the production of other products both practical and purely aesthetic.

Throughout the Utopia vs. Dystopia season, A Factory as it Might Be will be activated through workshops and an extrusion-inspired dinner in partnership with Norman.
