Open House New York and Transit Tech Lab Accelerator Showcase

In July 2019, the Transit Innovation Partnership, a jointly created initiative of the Partnership for New York City and the MTA, announced the four winners of its inaugural transit accelerator program. The Transit Tech Lab allows the MTA and other public transportation agencies to explore innovative, private sector solutions to the challenges of operating the region’s subway, bus and commuter rail services. The program enables tech companies to propose and test new products that will further the Transit Innovation Partnership’s mission of making New York City the global leader in transportation.

Open House New York, in partnership with A/D/O, hosts a showcase of the Transit Tech Lab with an overview of the program and presentations by Transit Tech Lab Accelerator winners. The presentation will be followed by a conversation on the experience of collaborating and addressing challenges within North America’s largest public transportation agency. The Transit Tech Lab will also share new details on the revenue, accessibility, and traffic coordination challenges that regional transit operators hope to address with innovative companies in the next round of the accelerator program.

This program is part of The Moving City: Transportation Infrastructures of New York, a year-long series of tours, conversations and debates about the future of transportation and mobility in New York City. Major support has been provided by the National Endowment for the Arts and matching gifts from our 2019 Spring Benefit donation challenge supporters.
