Tools of Tyranny: A Lecture With Theo Deutinger

Theo Deutinger addresses how globalization has led to ideas of ownership and exclusion that are manifested in everyday physical barriers. From border walls to government surveillance, nation states are using design to help expand and protect their spheres of influence.

Copies of The Tyranny Trail, accompany the discussion. The Tyranny Trail is a map originally created for Storefront of Art and Architecture that highlights fixtures of buildings and neighborhoods that serve as agents of control over collective, communal, and politically active public life.
