WORKSHOP WITH CHARLOTTE MCCURDY.

This workshop, led by designer Charlotte McCurdy, an interdisciplinary designer and researcher at NEW INC., participants will draw from a deck of cards focused on climate fortune. These are trends or forces that are expected to shape our experience of climate change in 2040. Together, we will then hack, edit and recombine these statements about the future iteratively around the circle to generate unexpected scenarios of that future. Next, we will have a function (i.e. fold, cut, pierce) with which we are able to intervene on paper in order to collectively craft artifacts from those emergent scenarios.

Participants will gain knowledge about climate change, gain skills in strategic foresight and will exercise a design-drive approach to innovation and insight generation. Everyone will leave with greater understanding of how an increasingly dynamic world fundamentally challenges how we approach our individual and institutional missions.
