CAROLYN KIRSCHNER

New York City

Carolyn is a designer and researcher with a background in architecture.

She currently holds teaching positions within the School of Design Strategies at Parsons and was previously a postdoctoral Sawyer Seminar fellow. Carolyn is also part of the Designed Realities Studio, an interdisciplinary research and teaching platform led by Dunne & Raby that operates across The New School. Her work interrogates the relationship between digital and physical space, with a focus on emerging technologies and contemporary currents that have the potential to disrupt and distort dominant systems of knowledge and power. Her research materializes as surreal artifacts, animations, images and multi-sensory installations. Carolyn has worked in architecture and urbanism, participates in academic conferences, leads design workshops, and has been published and exhibited internationally.
